I'm a Web Site Maker, Picture Taker, (Ex) Shop Maintainer, Avid Gamer. I work at Praekelt Foundation as a Front-end developer and UX person.
I'm a strong believer in One Web: people should be able to access all of a web site quickly and easily, regardless of the device they're using, the type of connection they are on, or any disabilities they have. This means that I'm very interested in Progressive Enhancement, especially as it relates to Responsive Web Design. Great content is the heart of any web site, so I'm also interested in Content Strategy, making it readable and legible with good typography, and easing a user's journey through solid UX.
I aim for continuous improvement and lifelong learning, so I spend some time every day reading and learning new things. As a web developer that means keeping up with new tools, techniques, and toys. I'm also a proponent of Agile software development, particularly Extreme Programming practices such as Test-Driven Development and Pair Programming. My favourite flavour of process is Kanban: I like the Just In Time method and the focus on continuous, incremental, improvement.
