Banke suffers from sickle cell but has managed to have an interesting and diverse career in tech and business. Her work at Praekelt.Org has exposed her to social impact projects and applying mobile solutions to development problems. She is passionate about helping women succeed in business.

Banke is a Chartered Management Consultant. She holds a B.Sc in Computer Science, a Masters in Business Administration from Edinburgh Business School, Scotland and a Certificate in Entrepreneurial Management from Pan African University’s Enterprise Development Centre.

She is a professional with over 20 years experience, a proven track record of successful projects and extensive knowledge of the digital industry along with its trends and technologies.

It's not just about numbers: Applying an Inclusivity Lens to Tech

The technology industry still suffers from great racial and gender inequality. To make the situation worse, recent surveys have shown that the industry itself is not bothered by the situation. Praekelt.org builds and designs technologies to improve the lives of girls and women in low and middle income countries. We believe it's equally important to promote gender and diversity within our teams as well. This talk will showcase some of the ways in which organisations can have the real difficult conversations around inclusivity.
