As web developers, we play a critical role in designing user interfaces that reflect the demographics of our users. This talk will introduce tips and tools that help us create beautiful user interfaces and meet accessibility criteria. (They are not mutually exclusive!). As an introductory talk, I will define accessibility and discuss guidelines set forth by the World Wide Web Consortium. However, the core component of this talk will cover how to design inclusive websites – keeping in mind focus styles, complementary colors, and responsiveness. After all, accessibility is not just beneficial to a handful of people with disabilities, but literally to everyone.
