How can we champion diversity when we ourselves do not live it?
As we push for diversity in the tech industry, we often fall upon the default of gender. They say, "Let's get more women in tech, let's get more women in STEM, let's push women to leadership positions!" But I challenge us all to think of diversity as something beyond gender. We can’t think about diversity as ONLY male/female, or ONLY race, or ONLY sexual orientation, or ONLY anything. We have to think about all the intersections. We have to talk about that. We have to act upon that. And we have to involve as many people as possible. Join me for a discussion on the importance of intersectionality in diversity, especially as it pertains to our tech industry!
