Lauren Golembiewski

Lauren is currently Co-founder and Lead Designer at Voxable, an agency that builds conversational interfaces for products and companies. She has a wealth of experience of designing for the tech industry. She started out working with early and mid-stage startups as a designer at Thinktiv, a venture accelerator. There she guided founders and CEOs on product strategy, brand, product design and UX while leading their products from idea to successful implementation as lead product designer. She then lead the design team as Design Director at Vast, a data-driven tech company where she built a product design team and worked closely with user research and data science to craft beautiful data-driven designs. Now, Lauren is running her own business, that aims to help human's and machines better understand each other by crafting intuitive chatbots, Alexa skills, and conversational apps and websites. She believes that we can make the world a better place by having machines help us along the way.

How a Personal Chatbot Can Make Your Life Better
I will be discussing online sexual harassment in my talk, but will not be citing any specific examples. I will call out sources where users can seek out examples of harassment that are vulgar and sometimes violent, but will only reference the source and give warnings as to what can be found there. I will also be discussing how harassment affects women and other marginalized groups online, and will cite some statistics around that concept.

Chatbots are re-emerging as a technology that can be used to automate businesses, give big brands more customer touch points, and help individuals better communicate. In her talk, Conversational Designer, Lauren Golembiewski will be diving into the exciting opportunities personal chatbots bring individuals, and how she believes they will ultimately make our lives better. She'll also be discussing Ghostbot for Burner, a chatbot she designed that aims to make dating better for those that receive harassment while online dating.
