Tech companies are releasing their workforce diversity statistics and announcing grand initiatives to address the glaring disparities in the industry. But are all groups being served equitably? The U.S. is changing with predictions of a majority minority population by the 2040's largely driven by the growth of the Latino and Hispanic demographic. These trends motivate the private sector to adapt for inclusion; but, do the new tech diversity initiatives match the population changes? Recent diversity initiatives by large tech companies have publicly announced partnerships catering to African-American, Black, and women organizations. However, are there comparable collaborations with Hispanic/Latino stakeholders? I discuss this apparent disparity and its implications for tech diversity inclusion and equity.
